Doors Open Day Glasgow

I have wanted to see the interior of Alexander 'Greek' Thomson's St Vincent Street Church for some time and also the interior of the Clydeport Building by Sir John James Burnet, both well known Glasgow Architects of the Victorian era.
So this morning friend A and I took advantage of Doors Open Day to visit. The original port authority building is quite magnificent in its exterior, interior and furnishing and is not normally open to the public.
Greek Thomson's St Vincent Street Church has suffered badly over the years despite a great deal of money being poured into it's restoration.
Thomson was a deeply religious man and strongly influenced by Old Testament images as well as Greek and Egyptian imagery. The two columns in the vestibule are possibly symbolic representations of two pillars, signifying a God of strength and reliability, located in Soloman's temple entrance, as described in the Bible in 1 Kings.
The extras are details from both buildings.
