Barnstaple Carnival Day

At about 5.00 o'clock I remembered it was Carnival day so got my camera and a coat and headed off to town.  As I got out the car, carefully parked away from the melee, the heavens opened. I trudged along with numerous others, towards the square where I found this wonderful old Carousel in use..... The extra is the band that led the Carnival - soldiering on in the damp conditions.  I watched a few of the floats go by, but then gave up as camera and I were getting very damp.  
Strolled back to the car and came home.  
Feeling a bit chilly I made a fresh curried vegetable soup - that was deliciously filling and warming. Comfort food!
