The Lozarithm Lens

The Old Forge (Sunday 17th September 2017)

I'm usually out and about of a Sunday afternoon but today there was too much requiring my attention after all the home improvements, so this is the first Sunday home-based blip since 6th August. I couldn't resist the late afternoon light falling on this splendid and large Japanese acer growing in next door's garden, taken from upstairs at my study window. Things are getting quite autumnal now.
(Looks much better in Full Screen)

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Chet Atkins - Take Five (1973)
From the album Alone. Paul Desmond wrote this for the Dave Brubeck Five, and it was a surprise crossover hit due to its unusual 5/4 time signature (1-2-3-1-2). I have posted a couple of cover versions as LOTD's but hadn't heard this immaculate version by one of Nashville's finest until Cerys played it this morning. Chet Atkins said it was the most difficult piece he ever recorded - you can hear his foot tapping out the time on this.
