Strolling......

......round Henley Lake, a network of flat walking tracks also suitable for cycling, winding through 43 hectares of wetlands and native plantings. Viewing towers over the lake and wetlands allow for a different perspective of the reserve.

Birdlife is abundant with native and introduced birds, great for bird watchers.

Henley Lake is also the site for Balloons over Wairarapa, an annual event which draws the crowds. During late spring and through summer the local Dragon Boat team are seen working through their paces.

Since being here for a few days, I'm finding the clouds amazing. They tightly hug the Tararua Range in shades of white and grey before spreading out over the Wairarapa, always drifting sometimes flat, sometimes puffy, creating a scene which is constantly on the move.

Wednesday.....brought unsettled weather, windy and showers.
