A Long Way from Home

Here is my entry for Mono Monday.  Thanks Skeena for hosting.
One of my favourite memories is a 2008 visit to South America, including the Galapagos Islands. The subject of this blip is a local artist's representation of a marine iguana, using driftwood, scrap metal and house paint. We couldn't resist it when we saw it and brought home as a souvenir.
Looking for a dramatic setting, I took him to Lincoln Rock, a scenic viewpoint near home. Two minibuses of Chinese tourists were there, and it was very funny watching them trying to decide if it was safe to approach our fake lizard. In the end they all lined up to join me in photographing him in his rocky setting.
