One of the houses in the village is being rethatched. This chap has worked on many of the houses in the village and has redone parts of this roof over the last twenty years.

He was telling me that some of the work was done to the original part which was thatched in the 1400s. He was heaving large bundles of straw from the back of the pick up onto the ledge.
