Walking Wombat

Symphionema Montana

This is the most minute flower and its growing in our shade house at the moment. It's one of the little seedlings that is being nurtured by the Blue Mountains Conservation Society. I'm definitely going back to take this one again and next time I'll set up with my tripod. I'm also going to try taking it with extension tubes. I can't even start to tell you how tiny this flower is. Watching the plants grow is just wonderful and CCN and I feel very privileged to be able to be part of the process.

Michael came again today and started work on the final piece of the jigsaw as far as the landscaping is concerned. He is putting in a serious set of steps leading down from the guest room and the veggie patch to the patio outside the living area. We hope it will be finished by Thursday at some stage so I thought it would be interesting to post a before and after shot. Please note: At the top right of the area you will be able to see some mangled kangaroo paw plants. This is the result of an incredibly hungry wombat :-(. They must be very hungry to eat their way through this lot!! We are digging the lot out and trying to propagate some of the plants in pots. We gave a whole lot to the Conservation Society today and although they are not native to the Blue Mountains some of their members might like to have them in their gardens.
