A close encounter...

... with a damselfly, basking in the afternoon sunshine. I believe this is a Common Darter immature male (but I'm happy to be corrected). He sat patiently waiting for me to go back to the car for the macro lens for this shot, having already posed for my wider shots (see the extra).
