The Chequers Public House

Today’s picture is of the public house where I had lunch with a colleague who I worked with for almost twenty years. We usually meet four or five time a year, although this is only the second time we have met this year. This public house does a “Pensioner’s” lunch on Wednesday; two courses for £6. As a coeliac I cannot always eat the lower cost lunch, but today roast turkey was on the menu, with potatoes and vegetables as well as gluten-free gravy. For pudding I had ice cream and kirsch cherries. We also each had a J2O and a coffee to finish, total cost just over £10; excellent value for money. Today’s picture is of the public house where I had lunch with a colleague who I worked with for almost twenty years. Other than that, a mediocre sort of day with some sunshine and now this afternoon there are some dark clouds and it looks as though it will rain.
