Before & After Cruise Fashions

A day at sea as we travel from Latvia towards the Kiel Canal in Germany.  I didn't think a picture of a flat, gray sea with mottled cloudy skies would be very interesting, so I am taking the liberty of "cheating" and posting a couple more pictures I took when we visited the Hermitage in St. Petersburg.

The only reason these gorgeous gowns are still in existence is that they were used to bundle up priceless art works taken from the walls of the Hermitage to save them from the Nazi invasion during World War II.  Just look at the minuscule waist on that sumptuous purple velvet gown!

I could fit into the dress on the left when we first boarded the ship back on September 1st.  Now the dress on the right is starting to feel a little snug!!!
