Family Tree

This old camellia tree was planted by my grandfather on farm land near the site of his first house.  He built his second house (where I now live) on another part of the farm around 1916.  Nothing remains of the first house and the farm has shrunk to 25 acres. Every September the camellia tree is covered in pink flowers, red flowers and white-striped pink and red flowers - unusual and striking.  The land it is on was sold long before I was born and has changed hands several times since.  Fortunately the present owners love the tree.
Thanks to Biker Bear for hosting Flower Friday.
