Our first day in Australia we were woken up by a wild cockatoo flying outside our hostel - brilliant! We had breakfast at the neighbouring hostel and then headed to Westpac bank to verify our accounts, so we actually have some money while here. On the way back from the bank we passed fitzroy gardens where there is a beautiful fountain, El Alamein and there were also weird and wonderful birds just wandering around the gardens (still no idea what type of birds they were but really interesting as I've never seen anything like it. To finish the day we shopped at Woolworths (so weird this is a supermarket here!) and spotted some Vegemite :p
