Stonehenge

We had to be out of our cottage by 10am.  Even though we had done a fair bit of packing last night, we still needed all our time to get out by 10am.  We headed off in the rain, our destination was Oxford.  It rained almost all the way to Oxford, but had stopped by the time we reached our friends’ house.  We haven’t been to visit them since last year, when we were heading home from Devon.

It wasn’t long before the boys were getting ready to go to the park to play cricket and football.  Miss E was at a friend’s house for the day, so BK and I went for a walk – along the canal, and then back along the river.  It got quite grey, but wasn’t cold.  We stopped off at a lovely pub for a refreshment and would have stopped off at another, but the rain came on and we decided to head home as we were getting quite wet.

We had a lovely meal and spent the evening catching up, picking up where we left off last year.  I do wish we lived nearer.

On our journey from Dorset to Oxford we drove past Stonehenge.  The traffic slowed right down, so I took advantage and took a few photographs.  The extra is a kingfisher under a bridge across the canal in Oxford.
