If trees could talk

This beautiful Wild Fig tree has witnessed decades of history at the Port Elizabeth St George's Club (founded in 1866, originally as a Gentlemens club)
Famous visitors include Mark Twain in 1896,  King George V1, Queen Elizabeth and the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret in 1947, and many others.
Today it is privately owned,  with much of the building being used for Advocates chambers. But the original bar remains, and  excellent meals are served in the dining room. Hubby T and I often enjoy having lunch there.
