Itsy Bitsy Spider

There are a lot of spiders around at the moment, happily this one is outside the house.  I got my screw-on macro lens out to photograph it and despite it not being perfectly focused, it's my blip as I had to get REALLY close, and that was a little unnerving....

Martin and I spent the afternoon pulling the ivy off the side of the house, and with it much of the paint.  A satisfying if messy job but I hope it's going to stop the mice climbing the walls to get into the attic as the weather gets colder.
