Dilemma

Germany now in an interesting dilemma. There are lots of possible upsides and serious discussions about how the fears expressed by far too many at the ballot box,  are quelled.

However there can be no tolerance whatsoever of the hardcore followers of the right wing bigot party. Less than 100 years ago many of our forefathers thought Hitler was a joke and ignored him. The British PM Neville Chamberlain being the most notable of the appeasement lobby and the British Royal Family connections via the Duke of Windsor and Oswald Mosley with his British Union of Fascists Party strengthened the hand of Hitler. NEVER AGAIN.

A lovely day, warm and lots of sun. Lovely walk in Ottobeuren and again this evening behind the house. I am in a dilemma. Angie spotted two kittens in a new field barn which our villages most notable character has erected. On Friday she started feeding them. Angie happened to see Bello and he said there were three but over the weekend Angie only ever saw two. The mother has been around for ages, a tri-colour but recently she hasn't been seen.

One half of me says we shouldn't feed them. It will only make them dependent and increase the problem. I think we have all heard about how quickly cat populations increase. They have a massive source of the best food ever - mice - and show no sign of hunger or ill health. What I guess we should do is catch them and have them castrated. Whether they are then viable as a unit?

Last night Angie had asked me to feed them today. My other half eventually agreed partly because I know that when she gets home tonight at about 9:00pm and hears I haven't, then she will drive out in the middle of the night.

So armed with tin and small amount of dried food, went to the barn. Initially the two were waiting and didn't move until I got within 1 or 2 meters but as soon as the bowls were filled out they came and followed by a third one.

We left them in peace and did the walk, returning to find them all waiting. Put some dried food in the bowls and they came within arms length. I think they would rather like to have a stroke! See Extra Photo.

My dilemma will probably be harder to sort than those of this country. .
