The waxeyes are certainly chewing up the fat. Along with the blackbirds they are getting through 500 grams a week, even though the weather has been warm. There is rarely less than four at the feeder, and often there are 6 or 8 or more. I no longer see 25 at a time as I did during the coldest part of winter.
The warm, dry weather is great for gardening, except when the nor’wester gets a bit to rough.
