Where the Light Gets In

Slowly preparing for Wednesday's appointment, checking all the boxes to be ready, and mostly to know what to expect. A few points still need clarifying, but a friend is helping me. Even though I'll go alone to the appointment (I could have chosen to be supported, but I don't really see the point as there will not be much to be discussed, just a few figures checked), it's good to have felt people helping me (not least Julie!) in the days leading to Wednesday.

Early morning with Jean-Pierre, then a trip to the local "law house" to gather bits of information, then off to the market. I do love the feeling of a marketplace, however small it might be (greengrocer's, butcher's, cheese/yoghurts/eggs, and the occasional furniture, clothes or mattresses seller). It's always relaxing which is what I need at the moment.

Afternoon spent watching replays of Murdoch Mysteries episodes. In one of them, the villain uses an excavator (looking much like what is used nowadays to dig tunnels, like the Chunnel between France and the UK) first to steal diamonds in local jewelleries (the series is set in late-19th century Toronto), then a bigger model to travel to the centre of the Earth, which he believes is hollow and is the dwelling-place of another intelligent life-form.
