Paradise Shelduck

She was very obliging and waited until I blipped her before she flew off to join her mate. They are both in the first extra photo.
Paradise ducks are only partially protected and (sadly) are legally hunted during the shooting season. They mate for life.
The tui is back in the flowering cherry (second extra) and there's a pukeko in the paddock.
