Kowhai and Waxeye

The kowhai blossom is rapidly disappearing but the waxeyes are still finding enough nectar to feed on.

I thought I'd best make the most of this as today was the last day of Term 3 so school is now closed for the next 2 weeks.  Us teachers and principals still have to work of course - but we get to have a bit of a break too.  I'm off on holiday for a few days - back at work in the second week.  But by then the kowhai will probably have lots all their flowers.
