Towers

Took the kids to Alton Towers today - with the result that I feel knackered like I've done a long hike, climbed a mountain and waded through a river. Luckily, my fearless, white-knuckle-loving daughter is now officially tall enough to go on anything on her own - previously, she'd have to draft her dad in to accompany her on rides that he'd otherwise be too chicken to consider and then she'd still moan about not being allowed to tackle Oblivion! This means that Beck and I can now just wave to her and her brother as they crest yet another scary loop and then suggest we all go on the Runaway Train or the 'rubber-dinghy rapids' again!

Of course there's one obvious song that all this reminds me of - thematically relevant but wildly inappropriate in tone (not the Modern Lovers 'Rollercoaster by the Sea', then...) Suffice to say that some of us are more than happy with the "the one(s) only sissies ride...!"
