Ketchikan is another frontier town established during the gold prospecting days. Nearby is the little village of the Klingit tribe at Saxman where local people gave a demonstration of dancing, singing and different handmade crafts using their traditional methods and tools. It also holds the largest collection in the world of totem poles from various locations. One highlight was seeing a pair of bald eagles very clearly in a tree beside the road but my photos are not good.
