Witch’s Kitchen

We stopped at Blarney Castle on the way out of Cork Airport. We didn’t kiss the Blarney Stone (I did it on an earlier visit, about 40 years ago, and I remember it being rather precarious). So we walked round the very interesting grounds which are full of old stones that have attracted curious legends.

The picture is of the Witch’s Stone, where the Blarney Witch lights a fire each night. Or it might be a place where cave dwellers once lived. To me the history in this case is more interesting than the legend!
