One thing I really love about Edinburgh is that you can live here for decades and still notice little treasures above your eye line that you've never paid attention to before. You've probably 'seen' them, but never properly registered their existence. Then one day you look up at the right moment and there are a couple of Sphinx glaring down at you from the art gallery.

There is always something else just waiting to surprise and delight you - so basically the exact opposite of the Conservative party.
