Can I have a ride?

Watched this baby grebe (chick? grebelet?) trying to climb onto mum's back. Unfortunately none of the pictures are very clear - bad light and slightly too far away. This is the clearest, but it doesn't actually show him trying to climb on - you'll have to take my word for it!
Love his stripy head.
