Ivy in the dark, dark wood

A rather grim, grey and breezy day. Pete and I should have been going up in a hot air balloon ( a Christmas present from the younger generation) but unsurprisingly the flight was cancelled. At least this gave us more time to finish his lectures.

I had a quick walk round Thorpe Wood in the afternoon, but there was scarcely any light under the trees. I stood for a while watching some flowering ivy, which is usually a magnet for flies and wasps, but it was just too miserable even for them...
