water over the dock again!

No tropical storms or hurricanes over us presently, although there are some out there. We think the wind from one of these storms has held the water up in the gulf. No . . . Steve just got new information: What we are experiencing is called King Tide Flooding. "Twice a year when the earth, sun, and moon line up, when the moon and the sun are at perigee and perihelion, we generally experience the greatest tidal ranges of the year. These resulting tides have informally been dubbed king tides," says the North Carolina King Tides Project. It is basically the biggest tides of the year!

When the tide comes in and it's high (yes, we are on a tidal river) . . . . we have water covering our dock!! It's not too bad, as you can see it is just up to the path up to the patio & house. We are 9-1/2 feet about water. so we fare just fine in most situations. ** And, Steve is now reporting that our dock is now showing! The water has receded already.

I have another photo I will put in the extras, one of steve walking on the dock, underwater. Good thing he wears Crocs!
