Heptonstall is a place I pass by all too often - can't remember the last time I visited. Time to stop the car and spend a few minutes visting! What a gem!

It's another of those places where the Hovis ad should have been filmed.

Anyway, following on from yesterday's Abbey theme, here is the ruins of St Thomas a Becket church, left in ruins after the new church (St Thomas the Apostle) was built in the same churchyard in 1854 for the princely sum of £6,666.
