Imperial City, Hue

After yesterday's rain it was back to hot and humid today as we moved from Hoi An to Hue.

The main blip is of the main entrance to the Imperial City, the Ngo Mon gate which lies within the citadel. Hue was the capital of Vietnam when the country was unified in 1802 until 1945. The founder of the Nguyen Dynasty built the citadel but a lot of it was destroyed by a fire in 1947 and then the Vietnam War 20 years later. It is now a Unesco World Heritage Site and is being restored.

The extras show another view within the Imperial City and another extraordinary wedding photo taken at the top of the Hai Van pass
