I've got a poorly thumb Daddy
So today we had an appointment at the jaundice clinic. Grandad took us and had a long kip in the car with Esther while I battled through the queues in the Children's Outpatient area.
Turns out the registrar didn't think she had jaundice at all and a light test only detected 130 (apparently 250 is when it needs further attention). However I asked him to look at her thumb as she has a bad friend that's gone a bit nasty and red. He was concerned as he had seen something similar before and it got a bit serious. What that means, I have no idea. So off we went to the children's ward to see a proper doctor. Seeing the big heavy hospital cots made me shudder thinking of all the babies that have had to spend time there.
Anyway a hour and a half later we got seen and a perscription was made for antibiotics as it has somehow got infected. With what, again, I don't know. If it starts pussing I need to go straight to Birmingham Children's hospital as the don't do surgery on under two year olds at Russell's Hall. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
It's days like this I need my Mum just for a likely reassurance if nothing else.
