El Camino

By AndrewForbes

This evening we took the motorway from Malaga to Seville where we're staying tonight.

It's a fairly interesting 2 hour run passing Antequera with it's fascinating geology.

Captured here (at 120km per hour with my phone - I wasn't driving!) is the Peña de los Enamorados, Lover's Rock. It's like the face of a woman looking skywards (better at other angles). Surrounded by the legend of forbidden love between the Arab daughter of the town's mayor and a Christian fighter.

Also in front is the construction of the high speed rail that will link the town with Granada and also the rest of the nation's superfast rail network.

Soon we're passing acres of wineries, mostly owned by Malaga Virgen, maker of sweet desert wines; and olive groves.

The magic is shattered by the scruffy outskirts of Seville but swiftly restored with views of the Giralda Tower and Torre de Oro illuminated against the autumn night sky.
