Shelter from the storm

A week ago a friend of mine was on a sunny boat trip around the mouth of the Thames Estuary aboard the famous Waverley, the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world. Following that, the ship headed home around the western coast,  due in Glasgow this weekend for the last cruise of the season. But a storm blew up and she had to take shelter in Fishguard Bay.  Alerted in the morning, I went down to the cliffs to see if she was visible through the mist and there she was, gently drifting at anchor. The accompanying image shows her in more detail "magnificently restored with towering funnels, timber decks, gleaming varnish and brass. See and hear the mighty engines – they will provide a whiff of nostalgia for some but are sure to impress all!"  says the website .
