More Old Stones

Otley Parish Church, parts of which date back to Saxon times.  The churchyard has many gravestones with lovely old eighteenth century lettering, recording the names of the inhabitants of the town and the villages around, which did not have their own churches till Victorian times.

People must have walked a fair distance to attend services.

The path through the churchyard is still much used - a short cut down to the top of Main Street.
