Back Home

We got up at 5.00am local time (4.00am UK time) for a flight from Cairo to Heathrow, then quite a long wait for the plane back to Edinburgh.  Finally got in the door in Leith at about 7.00pm UK time.  Tired, so didn't do any unpacking. 

We put all our electronics into our hold luggage, including ipads, a GPSr, camera body (not lenses), spare batteries, power pack etc.  And then watched a American man with a professional looking hard wheeled photography case in discussion with the official who was going to confiscate his external hard drive (with all of his photos on it).  I think he went away to find out how to ship it separately, as he came back later.  Pretty remiss of him not to read the travel advice. All our luggage turned up safely in Edinburgh, and it all still works :)
