Red Door with Lace Curtain

Opened the balcony window to the sight of a hot air balloon being launched against the golden morning sky. As it rose and I ran round to the bedroom balcony, three more balloons were rising above the castle...

After kefir, grapefruit, croissants and coffee, went off on a road trip for our day off, across the Lake, up along small roads we'd not been on before, to Terena and Juromenha, interested to see how it compared with this time last year. Then back across the River at the Ajuda Bridge (which we actually walked out onto) and into Spain, where we had a very late lunch at Olivença. Then back into Portugal, and over our bridge again to Reguengos, to buy ingredients for the blueberry cheesecake I need to make for a dinner tomorrow. Interesting that supermarkets open on Sunday in Portugal, but not in Spain, which explains why the supermarket was full of Spaniards, I guess.

Too many photos to choose... but loved the colours of this house beside the castle in Terena, though difficult to capture their intensity in the bright sunshine - will have to go back...
