Pink October : Bannockburn Diggings

Today we went to the old gold diggings at Bannockburn.  In this photo we are setting off, so pleased that piano lady was wearing pink!  The walk took us up through the sluicings, (extra 1),  then to the old hotel at Stewart Town.  There was a lovely lilac tree in full flower.  (Extra 2)  Some of the Californian Poppies were in flower, a complete contrast to the pink wild thyme seen along the path. (Extra 3)   We should go back when the thyme is in full flower in a month's time.  Some of us walked back to the cars, while others took another track to a local cafe, where we had a nice cuppa before heading for home.

Because we walked for over 10,000 steps, (6 k's) I am going to put my feet up, and chill out for the evening.
