Sunset after a strange day

This is the Elizabeth 1 beacon (or rather the latest of the line of them) that were meant to announce the arrival of one of my ancestors (in the Spanish Armada) at sunset after a day when the sun shone RED
(see additional image) Due to Sand from the Sahara and ash from the Spanish Bush fires,, very odd!
