Water and Lava along the Klickitat Trail

The basalt lava flows are evident in this photo of the Klickitat River. The water levels are low as the fall rains have yet to begin. At other times of the year, this undammed wild and scenic river fills this channel to the brim as it hurtles toward the Columbia River at Lyle, WA. I enjoyed a delightful hike along the Klickitat River Trail, a converted rail to trail, on an achingly beautiful autumn day.
