Thirty Years Ago Today.

The storms were so bad in the UK, they produced this book to show all the devastation.  (the photos look quite dated now!)

We were living in a small village in Hampshire at the time.

We were luckier than most, because we had log fires, we were able to keep warm, had hot water and could cook.  And plenty of candles.  Others who only had electricity were not so lucky.

Earlier that year, in April, a large oak had come down in our garden, breaking electricity and power lines.  We had no power for about 4 days.
So we had already been through this situation once.

(The toy owl is only there so I can add it  to BCAM).
