Sculptures by the lakes

Today we visited the sculptures by the lakes at Pallington and the Tolpuddle martyrs museum.

The former is as named bronze sculptures by the lake, avaliable to buy at c£14k. Beautiful but a bit damp under foot today.

The latter is in memory of workers unjustly sent to Australia in 1836 for daring to question the pay and conditions they received from their masters. This act of defiance forced many changes of labour laws in the uk. They are still remembered through trade union annual events in Tolpuddle.
