Portraits

I really love doing  portraits, not of people, (though I have been known to do that too), but of flowers, and insects. I especially love flowers, as a portrait can really bring out their beauty.
This is White clover, Trifolium repens, a common herbaceous perennial, which can stand close cropping and as such is often seen on roadside verges.
My guess is that even though it is common, very few people stop to look at it in detail.
I have added an extra shot of a tiny Parent bug Elasmucha grisea that was sitting on a leaf in my garden, such a sweet little shield bug the female of which broods the eggs and young larvae. They feed on Birch
