Mouflons (a first for me)

.... above Torgon where a small herd was introduced in 1970. Apparently there are about 300 now, of which I saw 15 today as the rut commences. This young male was as shocked as I was, to see someone so early at the Col de Recon. His horns will eventually reach the size of the old male in extra. The females are very different in shape and colour as you can see in Flickr if you are interested....

Thanks again for all the presents for yesterday's "Paddling in Gold", we are lucky to have an Indian Summer at the moment .... I shall be exhausted if it keeps up!
