To absent friends...

With both of us having booked the day off work, Iain and I packed a bag or two and headed through to Glasgow for the weekend.

Primarily it was to go along to a charity night, organised by some friends, to raise money for Chest, Heart and Stroke, in memory of another friend who passed away suddenly this summer.

As part of the evening, there was a raffle, for which I managed to score some goodies. I got a whole pile of merchandise from the guys at Lost Map Records and a pile of vinyl from Song, By Toad Records. I was blown away by their generosity.

So, through to the Weeg for lunch (a visit to The Flying Duck), a bit of a wander, then over to the hotel.

An early dinner (Stereo) and then over to the Southside for an evening of music, laughter, tears and catching up with lovely friends. Over £2,000 was raised, and Iain and I even won something (a Southside Fringe t-shirt and 2 tickets to next year’s festival)!

We managed to get on what appeared to be the last train heading into Central Station for the night and wound our way back to the hotel.

Thankfully chips were bought on the way there and wolfed down before bed.
