Riding into Shipston

What a choice, couldn't decide so see me and Hendrix as an extra photo. He, and his two brothers, are having a sleep over tonight so Daniel and Joanne can have a relax and a good nights sleep. He's now two and a half weeks old.
The main photo was taken by my friend and Gloucester Branch leader Colin 'Wilf' Beames and is me and friends arriving in Shipston on Stour for our friends funeral. Mike Dobbin left another Riders funeral a month ago and was killed at Botley Junction, on the A46 I think it is, when he left the funeral.
Today there were about 100 bikes at the funeral, a few extra people who were pillion, and the church was packed with Royal British Legion (standard bearers and non-biking members), RAFA (RAF Association), local people who knew him and family of course. A brass band provided the hymn music and even a Fairport Convention song and Nimrod (Elgar).
The 100 odd Riders Branch bikers escorted the hearse from the church to the Crematorium at Wellesbourne but the cremation was for family only, understandable of course.

A sad day, but he would have been overwhelmed by the support of all the riders that turned up, he was an exceptional sort of man.
And then home by 15:30 and to our grandsons, who came around about 18:00.
