Reflections

Thank you to everyone for the beautiful comments, stars and hearts for yesterday's Blip.  Once again, the Blip community showed their hearts and support.

When you first find out your child has substance use disorder, there is stigma and some shame, but mostly disbelief.  When Sumner was struggling in 2011, there weren't too many people I could talk to about it, but talk I did.  As 2012 came to an end, it seemed everyone I spoke to knew someone who also suffered.  We realized after she passed that her disorder shouldn't define her.  She was so much more and lived and accomplished so much in the 21 years preceding it and so have the many others who have struggled and are still struggling.  She continues to teach us each day.

I wanted to get some reflections of the beautiful deep reds and oranges today, but just as we got to the walking trail, Logan and Josie called on the cell phone - it was a long conversation until my phone ran out of battery life and then the light wasn't as good and the colors here not so bright, so this one will have to do with a little editing.
