1627, the capitulation of Groenlo

And the death of the bastard son of William of Orange. Apparently. Shot by a sniper from the city.

We witnessed another battle of the Dutch army from the trenches against the Spanish. This time the Dutch won, as they did in 1627.

Interesting and spectacular. There were 1600 reenactor participating, most of them in the battle, many others in town as merchants, beggars, city folk. They came from as far as Australia and the United states to participate, as well as many European countries.

A great event, I hope to be there again at the next one, in two years time.
