Tilly The Tricycle

We went up to see MIL in hospital again - the wind was really gusting from the west and made the drive up the A1 very challenging - dodging the swerving lorries was ‘interesting’. It was much stronger in the northeast than in West Yorkshire.

We stopped at Piercebridge for a bite to eat (which was very disappointing - a stale bread bun ‘sandwich’ and a luke warm sausage roll) and I wanted to try and photograph the bridge over the river Tees. No good views of the bridge sadly but I did spot this ice cream tricycle outside ‘The George’ where there was a wedding fair taking place.

We spent a couple of hours chatting with MIL and one of her friends who had popped in to see her as well. The good news is that she is going home on Wednesday - but will need care and support there for a while. Mrs madwill’s sister is going to go and stay with her and Social Services are arranging for equipment to be delivered / installed and for carers to begin daily visits.

Slightly less breezy (not much though) drive home - but at least it was blowing the lorries towards the hard shoulder rather than into lanes 2 and 3.

Fish pies, which I made yesterday was an easy option for tea! Stayed up to watch the US Grand Prix…good result for Lewis.
