Striding Arch

For our last day we headed out to see one of Andy Goldworthy's Striding Arches at Cairnhead.  A beautiful drive and setting and the sun was out.  Then decided to do more art with a visit to the Threave Estate and Gardens - promising 30 works by Scottish sculptors in themed garden rooms.  No sculptures (apparently 'they didn't weather well') and no dogs, so at £12.50 a head we decided to give it a miss and returned to Cairnsmore of Fleet nature reserve.  Had tried to go the day after Ophelia but a tree was down, we weren't disappointed.

Dumfries and Galloway has proved to be a lovely place to visit - very glad we came.
