I Spy!

Friends who have a holiday home in the village are up at the moment, with their old Labrador and young whippet, Rosie.  She is a beautiful girl, but very hyper and full of go!

They were up on the cliffs today at the same time as I was with Ollie and Scratch, so they all had a great time.  Sadly Rosie can't be trusted not to run away, so is always on a lead on walks, a very long, extending one!  A shining example of responsible dog ownership. She never gets a chance to be out on her own, even in their garden.

It was lovely between the showers, but very wet underfoot, and Ollie came home absolutely filthy!

Thanks for all the advice, suggestions and sympathy for the hens.  It is really appreciated.  There is now nothing we can do, we cannot prove it was the terrier. Getting the police involved will simply escalate the situation and risk more problems.  I have spoken to the vets and there is nothing other than a dog which could have killed them in that way, there are no foxes in Orkney.  I won't be getting any more chickens until the family moves . . . .
