Mono Monday

This is the Women's Memorial Belltower at the Cathedral Of The Pines.  I must confess that this photo was taken on the 19th when we visited this peaceful spot.  Lots of information here, if you'd like to read about it.  The land for this "Cathedral" was donated by a couple whose son was killed during WWII.  In the words from the website:  "The Cathedral of the Pines is a nationally recognized memorial dedicated to the memory and honor of all Americans who serve the nation in search of peace. We are open to the public as a place of spiritual, cultural, and environmental appreciation."

It is completely nondenominational and open to anyone for weddings, anniversaries and other private celebrations.  It is set high on ridge overlooking the valley and distant mountains. A truly beautiful place.

The theme for this week is "music" and the bells that ring on the half hour are very much so.  Many thanks to JDO for taking on the MM challenge for this month with her interesting themes.
